Moving on – now we’re using singles AND doubles, still 16th note triplets of course, and still only the snare drum. There are only really a few sticking you need to know – RLL, LRR, RRL, LLR etc – but it’s important to go very slowly and try to piece them all together.
In the end, you want to only be thinking about accents/rhythmic figures/melody and then fill in all the gaps in-between those accents with singles or doubles. Sound simple, right?
