Wishing Well by Mike Stern

Here’s a performance featuring one my favourite Mike Stern tunes, ‘Wishing Well’. It’s a lot of fun to play as it involves so many section changes and gets energetic towards the end.

I had to learn this song to play with Mike and I spent a lot of time on it and listened to many of his different drummers play the tune like Dennis Chambers, Kim Thompson, Dave Weckl etc. I must say that Weckl’s take was the only one that had really nice, musical parts for each section, so I couldn’t help busy steal some of them…purely because it just made the song sound so great.
