Practicing with a Metronome – Part Three

Now let’s move on and change what the metronome plays. There are lots of options but let’s start with having the click play all the 16th notes in the bar with the downbeat accented. This presents a new accuracy challenge – normally we have the click playing 1/4 notes with nothing in between which means we could be ‘in time’ with each 1/4 note but our subdivisions (either bass drum or left hand ghost notes) could be off.

Practice grooves and also general vocab around the drums and concentrate hard on making everything line up with the click.
