How to Practice – Part One
Hello, Login to start. Not a member? Join Today!
Practicing! This is such a hot topic amongst musicians and one I get asked about a lot in lessons and masterclasses – how long to practice, what to practice etc. There were a lot of members asking for lessons on practicing, too!
In this first part, I talk about the thing that helped me the most during my heavy practicing years and I think it’ll help you, too.
This will be an ongoing series and it would be great to have you guys shape some of the other lessons – please post some comments underneath this video or in the Q&A section – any questions about practicing or perhaps explain what you’re routine is like and/or what you find frustrating about practicing.

Good lesson!
I find having the patience to play slowly, especially if it’s a groove, to be challenging.
I put a moon gel pad in my car. Now I don’t care if I’m stuck in San Francisco traffic. I’m working on my left hand! 🙂
Hi Mike – that’s great! Those moongel pads are awesome; a GREAT workout for the hands. Keep it up!
