Play-Along Lesson – ‘Vibing’ Loop

    I had a good time playing along with this last night . It made me think of what the “groove/fill” relationship. What i learned is that playing a groove needs to start simple, very simple , and expand on the groove literally a note at a time , a phrase at a time . And as I progress , adding a “fill” is not really adding a fill , but more a “expanding on the groove ‘ , so the line gets blurred between groove and fill till one gets to the point where the groove disappears and your left with pure Solo/fill . The Disiplin for me is to focus on groove and add to it gradually . The fills will come naturally. Very Cool.

      Yes, exactly! This kind of practice is great for developing your sense of taste. Try to record yourself if you can so you can listen back.
