Now we’re going to transition to the heel-up position and practice some exercises and groupings that will help gain control over this ankle motion we discussed in lesson one but in the heel-up position.
A lot of drummers practice doubles to better their foot technique but there’s too much sliding involved and it’s too easy to ‘push’ the notes out; with these exercises there’s nowhere to hide and they’ll give you much greater control over the pedals!
