Play-Along Loops – 88BPM Bass Grooves

Some new additions to the play-along library to start off 2023! The great Dan Lutz recorded some bass loops for you to play along with. Dan is a first call bass player in LA and has worked with Vinnie Colaiuta, Peter Erskine, Gary Novak and every other monster musician in Los Angeles.

There are three loops here, all at 88bpm. This is a nice tempo; not too fast where the 16th notes are too challenging to play, and not too slow where things can feel a little lumpy. I have written one groove for each loop and rather than writing out multiple variations, I just wrote the groove with the most ghost notes and suggest that you remove things bit by bit to come up with other options. All will be clear once you watch the lesson.
