  • Great vocab phrase!! It´s a nice add to my “Flowing in Triplets” routine. The Ride and the stack sounds incredible, could you name the cymbal models? Thanks Louie!

    • Glad you dig it! The ride is a 22” Raw Bell & the stack is a 22” Extra Thin Jazz ride underneath a 20” Traditional Medium crash! I’ve made these stacks from other cymbals before…you just need the base cymbal to be pretty thin and the bells to sit together well size-wise.

  • Nice! Love it Louie. I play a fair bit of Jazz so find myself improvising in triplets quite a bit. Excited to give this a go and as with all the stuff you put out my biggest challenge is getting the Hi Hat 1/4 note in! 😂.. That elevates the coordination challenge so much! I actually now watch your vids and count the quarter out loud to help me get the context of the phrase with the count. Love the single grouping with the ‘off beat’ 6 stroke roll too.

    • Great! Counting through everything, or at least being able to do that (even as you play it yourself) is a great thing to practice.

Hey Louie, I purchased the Porter and Davies Throne that you recommended recently and it is Fantastic! A bit pricey but well worth it.. It is a game changer for playing live (hearing/feeling the Kick is so important) but it also helps my home practice Kit and has improved my practice sessions. I would highly recommend it to anyone( especially double kick players).. Thx , James
