  • Hi Louie,

I love revisiting all the foundation courses, including the pad exercises because it “keeps me honest”, per se, as a kind of check that I am using proper technique. I do find myself at my job sometimes with opportunities to practice, but I have no sticks. That said, are there any hand exercises that you can preform while sitting and waiting, that can give some sort of benefit (while I’m waiting in between orders, etc.)? Thank you as always. You and your videos are so inspirational.

    • Thanks, Alex! Glad you’re digging the lessons!

You can absolutely practice without sticks & pedals. Mike Mangini talked to me about this when I was at Berklee. The wrist & ankle motion is still the same so you can practice heel-up or heel-down without pedals & get a great workout!
