Very cool triplet phrase between ride, kick and snare. These kinds of phrases are nice because although they are pretty busy and high energy, they stay on the time-keeping voices so they can be used musically without being too bombastic.

Hi Louie, I noticed that you did not include the Left foot keeping time? Is this optional or does it just flow better without the left foot? Great Lick as always. James Stapinski
Hi James – I didn’t purposely leave it out. It’s ALWAYS good to have the left foot going so if you can work on it, then do. Because of the high-energy nature of this phrase I’d probably play 8th notes with the left foot.
