Flying Around the Drums – Part One
Hello, Login to start. Not a member? Join Today!
This exercise was taught to me by Virgil Donati and it’s a great endurance exercise and hand builder but it also teaches you how to move around the drums. If you practice it enough, very slowly and methodically to begin with, you’ll be free to ‘fly’ around the set whenever you want, whether is be a long burst of singles or just a quick flurry. Foundation is the key and this is a good example of a what a foundation exercise can lead to.

Great exercise, Louie. As usual, you take the mystery out of what initially seems complicated. Thanks.
