This is a famous drum groove from a Tom Scott tune called ‘Dirty Old Man’. Gadd plays a 32nd note flurry at the beginning of the groove. This is my interpretation with some variations!

Hi Louie,
Thanks for another great lesson !!!!!
How do you like your new sticks ? Im going to order the same ones…
Thanks again,
Alex
Hi Alex! Great, glad you enjoyed it. I really love the new Freestyle sticks – I’m using the 55A version. Normal sticks, or even some 16.5″ sticks now feel short and strange to me. I find it much easier to play with these..I get more reach, speed and power. Definitely worth trying to see if they work for you.
Thanks, Louie!
Great ideas–looking forward to using this.
Mike
