A really cool triplet phrase for this month’s lick that starts off with a tricky but great-sounding sticking featuring two right hands split between ride/kick and snare. As always, dynamics are key here so go very slow, section by section, and don’t speed up unless you can keep everything even and flowing at a slow tempo!

Watching the – lick of the month videos – I learn that there is so much you can do just by changing accents and how long you play the lick etc. It really opens my mind up to the many possibilities at hand.
This time I’m sure it’s that Vintage crash on your right. Love that sound.

Hi Claes…yes, absolutely. The simple changes can make a huge difference. You don’t need to have a huge vocabulary to be a great drummer…just great dynamics and time.
