Hi Louie, fantastic playing! But, how do you feel about the floor Toms? Regarding the sizes? I never really liked the shorter Floor Toms whether it is a 14, 16 or 18… Personal preference I guess and maybe depending on the style of music? Thanks , James
Thanks! I prefer a 14″ floor to be 14×14…14″ is too small to go any shorter IMO….the yamaha still sounds good but it’s harder to get it low without a twang….bit harder to tune. The 16″ and 18″ actually benefit from being an inch or so shorter…those drums are big enough that a bit of a quicker chamber really helps tighten the sound up.
