  • Awesome playing and what a great vibe! I recognise that guitar phrasing at 1:19 but can’t place it. What tune was that?!

    • Thanks! That was a cover of Allan Holdsworth’s ‘Proto Cosmos’. Also worth checking out Greg’s ‘Extraction’ record with Dennis Chambers.

Very Cool Louie! Awesome playing as usual.. This trio seems a bit heavier than your usual gig.. I felt a Jimi Hendrix/Joe Satriani vibe in several tunes… Or maybe it was the Hendrix picture that was right above your head…lol

    • Yes & no. Used to do a lot of this stuff back in the day. I should have/would have dug in a lot more but it was a quick gig with lots of complicated material to remember with only one rehearsal…I was just trying to make it to the end with no mistakes!

  • Hello Louie,

    That was very interesting !
Is there any place the watch or listen to the rest ?

  • Ah Yes! I know it from the Tony Williams ‘Lifetime; The Collection’ Album. Ironically I know ‘Blues For Tony’ from the Holdsworth album Proto Cosmos but not listened to the whole thing. Chad Wackerman’s playing on that record is outstanding. Have started a deep dive into Greg! Extraction is now at the top of the list. Thanks Louie.
