Awesome playing and what a great vibe! I recognise that guitar phrasing at 1:19 but can’t place it. What tune was that?!
Thanks! That was a cover of Allan Holdsworth’s ‘Proto Cosmos’. Also worth checking out Greg’s ‘Extraction’ record with Dennis Chambers.
Very Cool Louie! Awesome playing as usual.. This trio seems a bit heavier than your usual gig.. I felt a Jimi Hendrix/Joe Satriani vibe in several tunes… Or maybe it was the Hendrix picture that was right above your head…lol
Yes & no. Used to do a lot of this stuff back in the day. I should have/would have dug in a lot more but it was a quick gig with lots of complicated material to remember with only one rehearsal…I was just trying to make it to the end with no mistakes!
Hello Louie,
That was very interesting !
Is there any place the watch or listen to the rest ?
No…just these highlights!
Looking forward for more Musical Performances , Solo or with Band.
Ah Yes! I know it from the Tony Williams ‘Lifetime; The Collection’ Album. Ironically I know ‘Blues For Tony’ from the Holdsworth album Proto Cosmos but not listened to the whole thing. Chad Wackerman’s playing on that record is outstanding. Have started a deep dive into Greg! Extraction is now at the top of the list. Thanks Louie.
Great! The Holdsworth stuff with Gary Husband is my fave.
