Virgil Donati Endurance Exercise

Virgil taught me this exercise years ago in a private lesson and it is THE BEST drum set exercise to improve your speed, strength and endurance. The exercise itself is incredibly simple – just one hand playing 4, 3 or 2 notes – but incredibly difficult to play for more than a few minutes.

It’s important to REALLY push yourself and make sure you cover bigger gaps around the kit rather than going around the toms in order.
